About Us
Pakenham Weather provides weather information, real-time observations and forecasts, for the community of Pakenham and surrounding suburbs by a qualified meteorologist. Pakenham Weather was established in January 2015 to assist greater Pakenham residents in day to day planning and events by providing valuable weather information.
About the Weather Station |
Pakenham Weather observations are powered by an Davis Instruments Vantage Pro 2 professional weather station. The temperature and humidity sensor is mounted within a passive radiation shield at a height of 2.2m above ground level (AGL). Wind is measured by an anemometer (wind speed) and wind vane (wind direction) mounted above the roof line with an elevation of approximately 10 metres AGL and is reasonably exposed in most directions but tends to under-report wind speeds from the northwest to northeast due to higher topography situated to the north. Rainfall is recorded via a tipping bucket rain gauge with a resolution of 0.2mm per bucket tip and is mounted to the side of a pergola at a height of 2.2m AGL with good exposure from all directions.
